Harvest Torte Recipe

Ingredients:

4 c. diced tart unpared apples
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 c. pitted dates, cut up

Cooking Directions:

Combine all ingredients. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Do not beat. Turn into greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Cut in squares and serve hot or cold with whipped cream, cream, or vanilla ice cream. Makes 6- 8 servings.
