Baked Apples With Sherry Custard Recipe
Ingredients:
1/3 c. orange juice2 tbsp. sherry
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. unflavored gelatin
1 egg, lightly beaten
3 baked apples
Cooking Directions:
Combine orange juice and sherry in top of double boiler. Sprinkle with sugar and gelatin, stirring to dissolve. Stir in beaten egg. Place over lightly simmering water and whisk constantly until mixture is slightly thickened and about doubles in volume (approximately 12 minutes). Set pan in ice water and beat custard until cool. Remove from ice water, cover and chill. Just before serving, place apples in individual dishes and spoon custard over top. Easily doubled. Serves 3.Other Recipes you might like:
