Molasses Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:

6 c. sliced apples (about 4 lg.)
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. powdered nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. powdered cinnamon
5 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Cooking Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees G. Grease a 6x10x2 inch pan or baking dish.

Pare and core apples; slice about 1/8 inch thick. Mix together 1/4 cup sugar, nutmeg, salt and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Alternate apples and sugar mixture in prepared baking dish. Spoon 4 tablespoons molasses over top.

Mix together remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon molasses, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, butter and flour to a crumb consistency. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake uncovered 50 minutes or until apples are done. Serve warm. (Makes 6 servings)
