Hard Rock Candy Recipe

Ingredients:

4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c light corn syrup (red)
1/2 tsp. food coloring
1/2 tsp. cinnamon oil
Confectioners' sugar

Cooking Directions:

Mix sugar, water and corn syrup in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture reached 300 degrees on candy thermometer, or hard-crack stage. Remove from heat. Let bubbles settle then add coloring and flavoring. Mix well.

Pour into well-greased cookie pans. Use butter. Cool enough to touch. Cut or break into bite sized pieces. Dust with confectioners' sugar. Spearmint Oil is good instead of cinnamon oil.
