Custard French Toast Pyramids With Raspberries Recipe
Ingredients:
32 slices white bread, crust removed3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. heavy cream
2 c. milk
2 sticks melted butter
4 eggs
2 egg yolks
Powdered sugar
Cinnamon
Fresh raspberries
Cooking Directions:
Form 8 individual pyramid stacks with 4 slices of bread for each pyramid. Butter glass baking dish large enough to hold bread stacks. Brush bread with melted butter.Make Custard: In large mixing bowl, beat eggs and egg yolks until creamy. Whisk in sugar, vanilla, cream and milk. Mix thoroughly. Pour custard over bread and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes before serving with raspberry sauce, powdered sugar and garnished with fresh raspberries.
Raspberry Sauce: Blend 1 package frozen raspberries and 1 package frozen strawberries in blender until a pureed mixture is formed. Add a little sugar to taste. Serve slightly warmed oven French Toast Pyramids.
